Changing your password regularly is one of the easiest ways to keep your social media accounts secure. Whether you think someone may have your login details or you just want to update your security, here’s a simple guide for both Facebook and Instagram.
Changing Your Password on Facebook
On Mobile (Facebook App):
1.Open the Facebook app and log in.
2.Tap the menu icon (three lines) in the bottom right (iOS) or top right (Android).
3.Scroll down and select Settings & Privacy → Settings.
4.Tap Password and Security.
5.Select Change Password.
6.Enter your current password, then your new password twice.
7.Tap Save Changes.
On Desktop (Website):
1.Go to facebook.com and log in.
2.Click the down arrow in the top right corner.
3.Select Settings & Privacy → Settings.
4.From the left menu, click Security and Login.
5.Under Login, choose Change password.
6.Enter your current and new passwords, then click Save Changes.
Changing Your Password on Instagram
On Mobile (Instagram App):
1.Open the Instagram app and log in.
2.Tap your profile picture in the bottom right.
3.Tap the three lines in the top right → Settings and Privacy.
4.Scroll down to Account Center → Password and Security.
5.Select Change password.
6.Enter your current password and your new one, then confirm.
7.Tap Save.
On Desktop (Website):
1.Go to instagram.com and log in.
2.Click your profile picture (top right) → Settings.
3.Go to Change Password.
4.Enter your current and new password, then click Change Password.
